Memorable Class: Pete Kane's Class
I recall him talking about priming the pump and I made a joke about what if
there was no water down there. He said "you better have a good reason for
that buddy." I had a stupid one and he made me pay at practice that day. I
recall Mrs Knopp being nice to me. I recall Mr. Higbee telling Ron Walker to
either get a haircut or go home. Walker closed his locker and said "I'll see
ya" and walked out. I recall being the Hopewell football coach for a pep
rally and being razzed by all the football players. Hearing about John
Mickey and Herman Moore after Moore hit Phil Lomargo with a ruler (?) for
the nth'd time. Phil really appreciated that as, I think, he knew he finally
belonged. I think it actually changed his life forever.
Memorable Event: The night we (the entire class) lost to Monaca.
Until the moment when Charlie Bell kicked the football in disgust I always
thought our class was invincible. i realized at that moment we were not. The
moment I got my diploma. I recall sitting down and actually crying as I knew
I would never see most of my HS friends again.
Memorable teacher: Mr Jim Cutri and Mr Bob Carter and Ed Thull (Jr
High)
I knew Mr. Cutri the longest. He took a chance on me as a sophmore. His
caring lasted years after HS as well. Mr Carter, though there our Senior
year only, has been an inspiration to me for years. Ed Thull was a friend of
my father. i think they drank together years before. My mother asked him to
give me a chance to make the basketball team as I had had my foot operated
on. He talked to Mr. McIassac and I got on the team. Although I was never
great, I had a long association with the game because of this three and my
son.

Accomplishments
Just getting thru HS was a big one. Getting thru college was a miracle.
Beaching at RMU for 4 years was a gift from God. 1. Finding my lovely wife,
and best friend Joyce. 2. Being involved in and watching the birth of our
two children. Being older parents is odd especially when classmates have
grand kids these ages (17 and 12). 3. Writing a complete QA book and earning
a major quality award. 3a. having one of my recipes published in our church
cook book. 4. Reconnecting with John Haddock after 40 years. 5. Missing Jim
Izotic. 6. Maintain a lifelong friendship with Ron Walker.

Comments:
I really enjoyed attending all the reunions I was able to attend.
I was especially glad to be involved in our 40 year one. If you find
people from our class please let us know, get their e-mail address
so we can get in touch with them. If I don't get to thank you
individually, please let this be the substitute: "Thank you for
helping me shape my life for the better." God Bless you all ! Butch
Healey
